Unlike tilt-head models, the KSM70 features a stationary head with a lever that raises the bowl into the mixing position. It uses a 500-watt motor and is designed for large-batch baking. The bowl-lift platform uses different internal components than tilt-head models — parts are NOT interchangeable between the two platforms.

The KSM70 uses a 500-watt motor with a 10-speed planetary drive scaled for the 7-quart platform. The bowl-lift mechanism uses a cam-driven lift arm — a common wear point on high-use machines. The 7-quart stainless bowl and all accessories are specific to the bowl-lift platform and will not fit tilt-head models. Cross-reference with KSM60 and KSM55 for shared components.

⚠️ Pro tip: On bowl-lift models, the bowl lift arm and cam mechanism are the most common mechanical failure points — not the worm gear. If your bowl isn't rising fully or is wobbling during mixing, inspect the lift arm and cam before pulling the head apart.
