💡 Pro Tip — Inspect the Burn Grate and Fire Pot While You’re In There:
While the burn grate is out to replace the igniter, take 5 minutes to inspect two things. 1) Burn grate condition: A warped, cracked, or heavily corroded burn grate restricts airflow around the igniter and causes the new igniter to work harder — shortening its life. If the grate is compromised, replace it at the same time. 2) Fire pot ash buildup: Excessive ash in the fire pot insulates the pellets from the igniter heat and is a common cause of slow or failed ignition that gets misdiagnosed as igniter failure. Clear all ash from the fire pot before installing the new igniter and establish a regular ash-out schedule (every 1–2 cooks) to protect the new part.
