Water pooling on the floor in front of your dishwasher after every cycle. In most Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and Maytag dishwashers, this is caused by a failed lower door seal. When it cracks, hardens, or deforms, water escapes under the door during the wash cycle — damaging your floor and leaving you mopping after every load. ⚡ Common failure point in Whirlpool-built dishwashers. Part WPW10497235 is the genuine OEM replacement that restores a watertight seal and stops the leak in one direct-fit swap. Supersedes W10195543 and W10497235.

✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing this door seal stops the leak immediately after install.
Skill Level: Easy — 10–15 minutes. No tools required in most cases. Open the dishwasher door fully. The lower door seal sits in a channel along the bottom of the tub opening. Pull the old seal out of the channel — it may be stiff or brittle if hardened. Press the new seal firmly into the channel starting at the centre and working outward to each end. Ensure it seats fully with no gaps or lifted sections. Disconnect power at the breaker as a precaution before reaching inside the tub. Close the door and run a short cycle to confirm the leak is resolved.
