Common Symptoms
- Console display does not light or operates intermittently.
- Buttons do not respond, select the wrong function, or cannot cancel/pause normally.
- Dryer may not start when the user interface is nonfunctional.
Check Before Replacing
- Verify that the dryer has incoming power before condemning the user interface.
- Check the console wire harness and connectors for looseness, damage, or poor contact with power disconnected.
- Compare the replacement interface’s button/console color with the original; Whirlpool lists separate platinum, biscuit, and pewter interfaces.
- Confirm the complete dryer model number before ordering because similar models use different console interfaces.
Pro Tip
The platinum interface is different from Whirlpool’s biscuit and pewter versions; match the console color and exact model number.
