Genuine OEM Replacement Part
Compressor Won’t Start or Fridge Stopped Cooling? Replace the Start Relay — RCO410
Replaces HS410 · RCO-410
Fits: 1/4 – 1/3 HP Compressors · 125 VAC
Compatible: Whirlpool · Kenmore · Maytag · Amana · GE
Is This the Part You Need?
The Supco RCO410 is a 3-in-1 hard start kit combining the start relay, overload protector, and start capacitor in a single plug-on unit. It fits refrigerator compressors rated at 1/4 to 1/3 HP, 125 VAC. When the start relay fails, the compressor cannot start — the fridge stops cooling entirely, often with a clicking sound every few minutes as the compressor tries and fails to kick on. The RCO410 replaces the original relay and overload in one step, and the added start capacitor gives the compressor extra torque to start reliably — especially on aging or struggling compressors.
Symptoms of a Failed Start Relay or Overload
- Refrigerator not cooling — compressor not running
- Clicking sound every 2–5 minutes as compressor tries to start
- Compressor hums briefly then shuts off
- Fridge warm but evaporator fan still running
- Compressor hot to the touch on the back of the fridge
- Relay rattles when shaken (broken internal contact)

Compatible Models
Fits any refrigerator with a 1/4 – 1/3 HP, 125 VAC compressor. Commonly used in Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, Amana, and GE refrigerators. Verify your compressor HP and voltage rating before ordering.
💡 Pro Tip — Test the Compressor Before You Order:
Before replacing the relay, shake the old one — if it rattles, the relay is confirmed dead. If it doesn’t rattle, test the compressor windings with a multimeter (start, run, and common pins). A relay that tests bad but a compressor that also tests bad means the compressor itself has failed — and a new relay won’t fix it. Confirm the relay first, then order.
