Common Symptoms

  • Dryer runs without producing heat
  • Igniter fails to glow or ignite the burner
  • Extended drying time caused by failure to ignite the burner

Check Before Replacing

  • With the appliance disconnected from power, visually inspect the igniter for cracks or breakage.
  • During a properly controlled heating cycle, observe whether the igniter glows; absence of glow can indicate an igniter or related ignition-system fault.
  • Verify the appliance model number before ordering because igniter compatibility varies by dryer model.

Pro Tip

Do not touch the silicon-carbide igniter element with bare hands; verify the dryer model before installation.
