Why is my LG dishwasher leaking from the bottom?

Water leaking from the bottom of an LG dishwasher typically comes from one of several sources: a cracked pump casing, failed pump gaskets or seals, a damaged wash pump or drain pump, loose hose connections, a cracked tub, or a faulty door gasket. The pump casing assembly is a common culprit — it's the plastic housing at the bottom of the dishwasher where the pumps mount. Over time, the casing can crack from heat stress, impact, or age, allowing water to escape during operation. To diagnose, remove the kick plate and run a cycle while observing underneath with a flashlight — try to identify exactly where the water is coming from. If you see water dripping from the pump casing itself or from the connections where the pumps mount to the casing, the casing or its seals have likely failed. A cracked casing cannot be repaired — it must be replaced. When replacing the casing, also inspect the pump motors and all gaskets/seals, as these components often fail together or contribute to the leak.
