Samsung Dryer Not Heating or Blowing Cold Air? Heating Element DC47-00032A – Fix No-Heat Dryer Fast
A Samsung dryer that runs but produces no heat — blowing cold air through every cycle — is almost always a failed heating element coil.
In most Samsung and Kenmore electric dryers, the heating element is the nichrome coil that generates all drum heat for drying.
When it burns through or breaks, the dryer motor runs normally but no heat is produced — clothes come out damp after a full cycle, or the dryer takes two to three runs to dry a single load.
⚡ Common failure point in Samsung DVE and DV series electric dryers.
Part DC47-00032A is the genuine OEM Samsung heating element coil (3700W high / 1500W low, 240V, 3-wire dual wattage) that restores full heat output on both settings — superseding DC93-00154A, DC97-14486E, and XP93-00154A.
❓ Is This the Right Part?
This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:
- ✔ Dryer powers on and drum rotates normally
- ✔ Thermal fuse tests good (continuity confirmed) — if blown, replace it too
- ✔ High-limit thermostat and cycling thermostat test good
- ✔ Element coil tests open on continuity check (no continuity = failed coil)
- ✔ ONLY problem is no heat or insufficient heat — drum turns, motor runs normally

🔧 Common Symptoms
- Dryer runs but produces no heat — blows cold or room-temperature air only
- Clothes still damp after a full cycle — takes 2–3 runs to dry a load
- Only one heat setting works (high or low, not both) — partial coil failure
- Burning smell or scorched odour from the drum area during operation
- Circuit breaker trips when the dryer is switched to a heat setting
- Dryer overheating or running excessively hot before shutting off
✔ If these symptoms match, the heating element is the most likely failed component.
✔ In most cases, replacing this element restores full heat output on both settings immediately.

⚠️ Replace the Thermal Fuse at the Same Time:
A blown thermal fuse is the #1 reason a new heating element fails again within weeks. When a heating element burns out, the thermal fuse almost always blows at the same time — it’s a one-time safety device that cannot reset. Test it with a multimeter before reassembly: a good fuse shows continuity, a blown fuse reads open. If it’s blown, replace it before installing the new element. Replacing both in the same service call eliminates the most common cause of repeat heating failures.
⚙️ Installation
Skill Level: MODERATE — 30–60 minutes.
Disconnect power and turn off the circuit breaker before servicing — this is a 240V component.
The heater housing is at the rear of the dryer behind the drum — remove the back panel to access it.
Photograph the coil routing and all 3 terminal positions before disconnecting, remove the old coil from the housing, install the new DC47-00032A coil in the same routing pattern, reconnect all 3 terminals in the correct positions, reassemble the back panel, restore power, and run a test cycle on both heat settings to confirm full heat restoration.

💡 Pro Tip
Check the Vent Before Replacing the Element:
A clogged or kinked exhaust vent is the #1 cause of premature heating element failure in Samsung dryers. Restricted airflow causes the element to overheat and burn through — sometimes within months of installation. Before installing the new element, disconnect the exhaust duct and run a test cycle: if heat is restored with the duct disconnected, the vent is blocked. Clear the full vent run from the dryer to the exterior cap before reassembling. A clean vent means the new element lasts its full service life.
