Your LG Oven Bakes Unevenly or the Convection Fan Has Stopped Spinning — EAU62343001 Is the Fix
The convection fan motor is what separates a convection oven from a conventional one — it circulates hot air continuously to eliminate hot spots and deliver even, consistent baking on every rack. When the motor fails, the fan stops spinning and your oven reverts to radiant heat only: one side burns, the other stays raw, bake times stretch out, and roasts lose their crust. A seized or burned-out motor can also trigger temperature sensor errors as the oven struggles to maintain setpoint without airflow. EAU62343001 is the genuine OEM convection fan motor for LG electric and gas ranges across the LDE, LDG, LRE, LRG, LSE, LSG, LSSE, and LSSG series, restoring full 336 CFM airflow and even heat distribution.
Replace the EAU62343001 Convection Fan Motor if your LG oven is showing any of the following:
- Convection fan not spinning during bake or convection cycles
- Uneven baking — food burns on one side or doesn’t cook through
- Oven takes much longer than normal to reach temperature
- Convection mode produces no noticeable airflow
- Loud grinding, rattling, or squealing from the back of the oven cavity
- Fan spins intermittently or stops mid-cycle
- Burning smell from the rear of the oven (motor winding failure)
- Temperature sensor or convection error codes on the display

⚠️ Critical: Unplug the range from the electrical outlet before beginning. For gas ranges, also shut off the gas supply at the valve. The convection motor is located at the rear of the oven cavity — the oven must be cool before accessing it.
Fan Blade Transfer: If reusing your existing fan blade, note the blade orientation before removing it — incorrect reinstallation causes airflow reversal and uneven heating. Torque the retaining nut firmly but do not overtighten — the motor shaft threads are fine-pitched.
After Install: Run the oven on convection at 350°F for 15 minutes. Verify the fan spins continuously, airflow is felt at the oven vents, and the oven reaches and holds temperature evenly.

The fan blade (MDG62882901) and retaining nut (1NHB0500032) are inexpensive and often overlooked — but a cracked or warped blade on a new motor causes vibration that destroys the new motor’s bearings within months. If your blade has any visible cracks, chips, or is more than 8 years old, replace it at the same time. It’s a $20 part that protects a $100+ motor. Ask us to add it to your order.
