A washer that won’t start, won’t spin, or stops mid-cycle with the lid closed is the most common sign of a failed lid switch. In LG WT-series top-load washers, the EBF61215202 lid switch signals the control board that the lid is closed and safe to operate — without this signal, the washer refuses to agitate or spin as a safety measure.
