A failed bake element is the most common reason a GE oven stops heating on the bake cycle or produces uneven, undercooked results. In most GE ranges and wall ovens, the spreader main bake element distributes heat evenly across the oven floor — when it burns out or cracks, the oven won’t reach temperature, food bakes unevenly, or the breaker trips when the bake cycle is activated. ⚡ Common failure point in GE-built ranges and wall ovens. Part WS01L18573 is the genuine OEM replacement that restores full bake heat and even temperature distribution immediately.

✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing this bake element restores full oven heat and even baking immediately.
Skill Level: Easy — 15–25 minutes. Disconnect power at the breaker before beginning — do not rely on the oven’s power switch alone. Allow the oven to cool completely, then remove the two mounting screws at the back of the oven cavity, pull the element forward, disconnect the two wire terminals (photograph the wiring first), and connect the new element in reverse order. Ensure both terminal connections are fully seated before restoring power and running a test bake cycle.
