WG04F12727 GE Motor Inverter Board for Front-Load Washers, Fixes No Spin or Motor Faults
Original GE/Mabe front-load washer motor inverter board. Superseded by WG04F13075 (CA) and WH22X38837 (US). Replaces WG04F11964, WG04F12301, WG04F12508, WG04F12652 when fitment is confirmed by model number.
The GE WG04F12727 Motor Inverter Board is the original GE/Mabe motor inverter board for select GE and GE Profile front-load washers. It has been superseded by WG04F13075 (current Canadian service part) and WH22X38837 (current U.S. service part). It replaces Canadian predecessors WG04F11964, WG04F12301, WG04F12508, WG04F12652 and U.S. predecessors WH22X29531, WH22X32059, WH22X32957, WH22X34657, WH22X35837.
The inverter receives commands from the washer's main control board and regulates electrical power to the drive motor. It controls motor speed and direction during washing, tumbling, and spin cycles.
A defective inverter board is one possible cause of no-spin, no-tumble, or motor-fault symptoms. Similar symptoms can also result from a defective drive motor, damaged wiring, loose connectors, door-lock failure, main control-board fault, or mechanical resistance in the tub. Inspect the motor, wiring, connectors, door lock, main control, and mechanical tub movement before replacing the inverter.
Confirm the complete washer model and revision before ordering. Disconnect electrical power before accessing the inverter board or motor wiring.
Is This the Right Part?
Fits select GE and GE Profile front-load washer models. Confirm the complete model and revision before ordering. Similar inverter boards may use different connectors or firmware.
Common Symptoms
- Washer not spinning or drum not turning during spin phase
- Cycle stops during tumble or spin without completing
- Motor-related fault codes displayed
- Intermittent motor operation or erratic drum movement
Check Before Replacing
- Test the drive motor and inspect motor wiring harness for heat damage, corrosion, or loose terminals
- Check the door-lock assembly — a door-lock fault can prevent spin from initiating
- Verify the main control board is sending correct commands to the inverter
- Check for mechanical tub resistance or drainage faults that may prevent spin

Installation Notes
- Disconnect electrical power before accessing the inverter board or motor wiring.
- Remove the rear panel and photograph all connector positions before disconnecting.
- Compare the new board with the original before installation.
- Transfer connectors one at a time to the new board.
- Restore power and run a spin-only cycle to confirm operation — check for error codes.
May restore motor operation when diagnosis confirms that the original inverter board is defective. Use a qualified technician when diagnosis or installation is outside your experience.
