A range that won’t power on at all is most often caused by a damaged, worn, or missing power cord — not a failed control board. In most GE, Café, Profile, and Monogram electric ranges, the power cord is the first point of failure when the unit goes completely dead, trips the breaker repeatedly, or shows signs of burning at the outlet. When it fails or is improperly rated, the range loses power entirely or creates a fire hazard at the connection point. ⚡ Required replacement when installing a new range or moving to a 4-wire outlet — ranges do not ship with a power cord. Part WS01F07197 is the genuine OEM UL-certified 4-wire replacement cord that delivers a safe, code-compliant connection and restores full power immediately.

✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely cause of the issue.
✔ In most cases, installing this power cord restores full range operation immediately.
Skill Level: EASY — 15–20 minutes. Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing. Remove the rear access panel on the range to expose the terminal block. Connect the 4 wires (ground, neutral, and two hots) to the corresponding terminals per the wiring diagram on the range — the spring-loaded locking plate secures the cord in place. Restore power at the breaker and confirm full operation.
