Common Symptoms
- Refrigerant-line leak at a splice or connection
- Cooling loss caused by a leaking refrigeration-tube joint
Check Before Replacing
- Verify that the existing tube sizes are approximately 8.5 mm and 6–6.35 mm outside diameter before ordering.
- Inspect the suspected joint for visible oil residue or other evidence of a refrigerant leak.
- Confirm that the fitting has not already been swaged or crimped; the connection is intended as a permanent assembly.
Pro Tip
Match both tube outside diameters before installation; the 8.5/6 connector is not interchangeable with the similar 8/6 version.
