An LG front load washer that won’t spin, spins slowly, or displays an LE error code is almost always caused by a failed or damaged drive motor rotor assembly. In LG and Kenmore front load washers, the direct drive motor rotor is the magnetic component that surrounds the stator and drives drum rotation without a belt or pulley. When the rotor’s magnets crack, chip, or the rotor itself becomes damaged, the motor loses torque, the drum stalls under load, and the washer throws an LE (locked motor error) code. ⚡ One of the most common mechanical failures on LG direct drive washers — the rotor magnets are vulnerable to impact damage if foreign objects enter the drum. Part AHL72914402 is the genuine OEM replacement that restores full motor torque and spin performance immediately.
This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:

✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the system.
— In most cases, replacing this rotor assembly restores full spin speed and clears the LE error immediately.
Skill Level: MODERATE — 30–45 minutes. Disconnect power before servicing. Lay the washer on its back to access the motor assembly at the rear of the drum. Remove the single bolt securing the rotor to the stator shaft, pull the rotor straight off, and seat the new rotor in the same position. Reinstall the bolt to the specified torque, stand the washer upright, and run a spin cycle to confirm operation.
