A Maytag dishwasher that won’t start, shows error codes, runs erratically, or has a completely unresponsive control panel is almost always caused by a failed main control board. In Maytag and Whirlpool dishwashers, the main control board manages all wash cycle logic — water fill, pump operation, heating, drying, and cycle sequencing.
