Samsung Washer Washplate Assembly DC97-19291B — Replaces DC97-19291A / Restores Wash Action

Samsung Top-Load Washer Washplate Assembly DC97-19291B — Replaces DC97-19291A / Restores Wash Action

🇺🇸 Matching U.S. Part Number: DC97-19291B

DC97-19291B is a Samsung washer washplate or pulsator assembly used in select Samsung top-load washers. It replaces discontinued Samsung part number DC97-19291A.

The assembly is mounted at the bottom of the spin basket and moves back and forth during the wash cycle to circulate clothing, water and detergent. The complete assembly includes the upper and lower washplate sections.

A damaged, loose, cracked or worn washplate may contribute to poor wash action, unusual movement, scraping noises or a washplate that no longer turns correctly.

Similar symptoms can also result from a damaged pulsator cap, loose mounting bolt, stripped drive connection, clutch, motor, basket obstruction or another drive-system component.

Confirm the complete washer model, regional suffix and revision before ordering. Disconnect electrical power and shut off the water supply before service.

❓ Is This the Right Part?

This is the correct part if ALL of the following are true:

  • ✔ Washer powers on and runs a cycle
  • ✔ Pulsator cap, mounting bolt, and drive connection have been inspected
  • ✔ Clutch, motor, and basket confirmed free of obstruction
  • ✔ Inspection confirms the washplate assembly is cracked, stripped, loose, or damaged

Not sure? Send us your model number — we'll confirm before you order.

🔧 Common Symptoms

  • Poor wash action — clothes not being cleaned effectively
  • Scraping, grinding, or unusual noise during the wash cycle
  • Washplate visibly cracked, chipped, or not seated correctly
  • Washplate does not rotate or oscillates incorrectly during the wash cycle

✔ The washplate is one possible cause of these symptoms — inspect the pulsator cap, mounting bolt, and drive connection before ordering.

✔ May restore wash action when diagnosis confirms that the original washplate assembly is damaged or worn.

📦 Part Details

  • Part Number: DC97-19291B
  • Replaces: DC97-19291A (discontinued)
  • Type: Complete washer washplate / pulsator assembly (upper and lower sections)
  • Manufacturer: Samsung Electronics
  • Related Components (not included): DC66-00887B (pulsator cap), DC60-40133A (mounting bolt), 6031-002240 (washer/spacer)
  • Note: DC97-19288A and DC66-00883B are separate washplate applications — do not substitute. Confirm the complete model number including regional suffix and revision before ordering.
⚠️ Recommended While Repairing:
Inspect the pulsator cap (DC66-00887B) and mounting bolt (DC60-40133A) while the washplate is out. These components wear together with the washplate and are inexpensive to replace at the same time. A worn cap or loose bolt can cause the new washplate to develop the same symptoms within months.

⚙️ Installation

Skill Level: MODERATE. Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing. Remove the agitator cap and mounting bolt to release the original washplate from the drive shaft. Installation difficulty varies by model and may require removal of a seized or tightly fitted original washplate — confirm the service procedure for your specific model before starting. Install the replacement assembly, torque the mounting bolt to specification, and run a short wash cycle to confirm correct operation.

💡 Pro Tip

Check the Mounting Bolt Before Replacing the Washplate:
A loose or stripped mounting bolt is a common cause of washplate noise and poor wash action — and it costs a fraction of the full assembly. Before ordering DC97-19291B, remove the pulsator cap and check whether the bolt is tight and the drive splines are intact. If the splines are stripped on the shaft rather than the washplate, the washplate replacement alone will not fix the problem.
