This is an advanced repair — if you're not comfortable disassembling the entire tub assembly, consider hiring a professional. Before starting, watch a model-specific video tutorial to understand the full process. When removing bearings, use a proper bearing puller or press to avoid damaging the tub housing. Always replace BOTH bearings and the seal together — if one bearing is bad, the other is likely worn too, and a new seal prevents future water intrusion. Apply the included seal lubricant to ensure a watertight fit. After reassembly, check for leaks during the first wash cycle before pushing the washer back into position.

W10435302 Whirlpool Washer Tub Seal & Bearing Kit – Fix Your Washer That's Loud, Leaking, or Won't Spin Properly

The complete fix for a washer that's making loud grinding, rumbling, or roaring noises during the spin cycle, leaking water from the bottom, or has a drum that wobbles excessively. The tub bearings allow the inner drum to spin smoothly at high speeds, while the tub seal prevents water from reaching the bearings. When the seal fails, water leaks into the bearings causing corrosion, noise, and eventual bearing failure. If your washer sounds like a jet engine during spin, leaves rust-colored stains on clothes, leaks water underneath, vibrates excessively, or the drum has visible play when you push on it — worn bearings and a failed tub seal are the cause. This genuine OEM Whirlpool kit includes the inner and outer tub bearings plus the tub seal — everything needed for a complete repair. Fits Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, and Amana front-load washers. Direct-fit replacement with no modifications required. Advanced 2–3 hour DIY repair that saves hundreds compared to buying a new washer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my washer so loud during the spin cycle?

A loud grinding, rumbling, or roaring noise during spin is the classic sign of worn tub bearings. The bearings allow the drum to spin at high speeds (up to 1,200 RPM). When the tub seal fails, water leaks into the bearings, causing rust and wear. As the bearings deteriorate, metal-on-metal contact creates loud noise and can eventually cause the drum to seize. Replacing the tub seal and bearing kit restores quiet, smooth operation and extends the life of your washer.
