Why does my dryer hum but not start?
A dryer that hums but won't start typically indicates the motor is receiving power and trying to run, but something is preventing it from turning. The most common causes are: (1) Seized motor — the motor bearings have failed and the shaft won't turn. Try rotating the drum by hand with the dryer unplugged — if it won't turn or is very stiff, the motor may be seized. (2) Failed motor start switch — the motor has an internal centrifugal start switch that engages the start winding. If this switch fails, the motor hums but can't start spinning. (3) Stuck blower wheel — if something is jamming the blower wheel (lint buildup, foreign object), the motor can't turn. (4) Broken belt — on some dryers, a broken belt allows the motor to spin freely but the drum won't turn, and the dryer may shut off due to a belt switch. (5) Worn drum rollers or glides — excessive friction from worn support components can prevent the motor from turning the drum. If the motor hums and gets hot, then shuts off (thermal overload), the motor is struggling and likely needs replacement. A motor that hums briefly then goes silent has usually tripped its internal thermal protector due to overheating from the strain of trying to start.

Part ordered was correct and arrived in a timely manner.
called about a part at noon on Saturday. a little miscommunication over the phone as i provided an appliance model and issue. needed a baking element in oven. no stock and was going to be 3-5 days. i called another supplier and was told the part # i had is old and a new part # was provided. this one was going to be a few days as well. i called back to x part and provided a new part # and they had it in stock. i arrived at 1pm and they stayed behind to help me out a few minutes past. they helped me host an event later that day which i appreciated as the next option was going to be 3-5 days! Thanks George and Sam
