If your Whirlpool or Maytag washer won’t drain, leaves standing water in the drum, or displays an F9E1 or LD error code, the drain pump is the most common cause. In most WTW and MVW series washers, the drain pump expels wastewater from the tub during every rinse and spin cycle. When the pump motor burns out or the impeller jams, the washer stops mid-cycle, water remains in the drum, and the door won’t unlock. ⚡ Common failure point in Whirlpool and Maytag-built top-load washers. Part W11399437 is the genuine OEM replacement drain pump assembly that restores full drain function — no modifications required. Directly supersedes W11259498.

✔ In most cases, replacing this drain pump restores normal drain and spin operation immediately.
Skill Level: Moderate — 30–60 minutes. Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply before starting. Have towels ready — residual water will drain when the pump hoses are disconnected. Access the pump through the lower front panel by removing the kick plate screws; disconnect the wiring harness and two drain hoses, then unscrew or unclip the pump from the sump. Install the new pump in reverse order, ensuring all hose clamps are fully seated. Restore power and run a drain/spin cycle to confirm operation.
