The electronic control board is the brain of your Whirlpool top-load washer — it manages every electronic function including cycle selection, water level control, motor speed and direction, drain pump operation, water inlet valve control, lid lock engagement, and user interface communication. When the board fails from a power surge, moisture intrusion, or component burnout, the washer refuses to start, stops mid-cycle without completing, displays error codes that won’t clear after a reset, or goes completely dead with no lights or response. The W11498190 is the OEM main electronic control board (PCB assembly) for Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, and Inglis top-load washers, superseding W11211478, W11256099, and W11476577. Available in OEM New and OEM Used (tested pull) conditions.

⚙️ Installation Notes
Skill Level: Intermediate — 30–45 minute repair. Unplug the washer before beginning. The control board is located in the control console at the top rear of the washer. Release the console clips or screws at the rear or underside of the panel to access the board. Photograph all wire harness connections before disconnecting — connector positions vary by model. Press release tabs to disconnect harness connectors; never pull on the wires. Transfer any standoffs or brackets from the old board to the new W11498190. After installation, if error codes persist, perform a hard reset by unplugging the washer for 60 seconds before running a test cycle.

💡 Pro Tip — Diagnose Before You Order a Control Board:
Control boards are the most frequently misdiagnosed washer component — and one of the most expensive. Before replacing W11498190, test the motor, water inlet valves, water level pressure sensor, and lid lock switch individually. A failed lid lock or water level sensor can mimic a completely dead control board and costs a fraction of the price to replace. If the washer is completely dead with no lights or display, also check the power supply and door lid switch before condemning the board. If all other components test good and the washer still won’t function, the board is your confirmed answer.
