✔ Complete Assembly — Circulation + Drain + Motor
Is This the Part You Need?
The W11665769 is a complete pump and motor assembly that combines the circulation pump, drain pump, and motor into a single sealed unit. The circulation side draws water from the sump and forces it through the spray arms during the wash cycle; the drain side evacuates water from the tub at the end of each cycle. When the motor burns out, the impeller is damaged by debris, or the internal seals fail, the dishwasher may stop draining, stop washing, produce loud grinding or humming, or throw pump-related error codes. Because both functions share the same motor, a failed motor affects both wash and drain simultaneously. The W11665769 restores full wash and drain function in a single repair across Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, and Amana dishwashers.
Symptoms This Part Fixes
- Dishwasher won’t drain — water remaining in the bottom after the cycle
- Dishwasher fills but won’t wash — no spray arm action
- Loud grinding, humming, or buzzing during the wash or drain phase
- Dishes not getting clean due to weak or no water circulation
- Spray arms not rotating during wash cycle
- Dishwasher stopping mid-cycle with drain or circulation error codes
- Water leaking from the pump area at the bottom of the tub

- Reconnect all hoses and harness connectors, return the dishwasher to upright, reinstall the filter and spray arm, restore power and water
- Run a full test cycle and inspect for leaks at all hose connections before pushing the unit back into the cabinet

💡 Pro Tip — Diagnose Which Pump Function Has Failed Before Ordering:
The W11665769 is the complete assembly — circulation pump, drain pump, and motor combined. Before ordering, confirm which function has failed to avoid over-spending. If the dishwasher washes but won’t drain: the drain pump side has failed — consider ordering the drain pump or wash motor (W11612327) separately if the circulation function is still working. If the dishwasher won’t wash but drains fine: the circulation motor has failed — W11612327 (wash pump motor only) may be the more cost-effective repair. If both functions are compromised, the motor hums but nothing moves, or the assembly is leaking: the complete W11665769 is the correct repair. Also clear the filter and sump of debris before installing the new assembly — a debris-jammed impeller is a common cause of early pump failure.
