A range with a blank display, unresponsive touch controls, burners that won’t activate, or an oven that won’t start despite power being present almost always has a failed electronic range control (ERC) board. In most Whirlpool and Maytag ranges, the ERC is the central control board that manages all cooking functions — surface element switching, oven temperature regulation, display output, and timer functions — when it fails, some or all of these functions stop responding simultaneously. When it fails, the range may appear completely dead, display error codes, or operate erratically with some functions working and others not. ⚡ ERC board failure is the most common cause of multi-function loss on Whirlpool-platform electric ranges. Part W11784010 is the genuine OEM electronic range control board that restores full range operation immediately.

✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing the ERC board restores full range operation immediately.
Skill Level: Moderate — 30–45 min DIY. Disconnect power at the breaker before beginning — the ERC board operates at line voltage and must be fully de-energized before any service. The control board is located behind the control panel — remove the back panel or control panel fascia to access it. Photograph all wire harness connections before disconnecting, then transfer connectors one at a time to the new board in the same positions. Reinstall the panel, restore power, and confirm all functions respond correctly before returning the range to service.
