The WB13K21 glow bar ignitor draws current through a silicon carbide element that heats to ignition temperature, signaling the gas valve to open. When the ignitor weakens or fails, the oven won't light, takes excessively long to preheat, or trips the safety valve. This OEM part restores factory ignition timing and gas valve response.
Oven not lighting or taking more than 90 seconds to ignite. Oven ignitor glows but burner never lights. Gas smell without ignition. Oven cycling off before reaching set temperature. Error codes related to ignition failure on compatible GE models.

Disconnect power and shut off gas before beginning. The ignitor is located at the rear of the oven burner assembly — remove the oven bottom panel and burner cover to access it. Disconnect the two-wire harness connector (do not touch the ignitor element with bare hands — skin oils reduce service life). Secure the new ignitor with the mounting screws and reconnect the harness. Restore power and run a bake cycle to confirm ignition within 30–60 seconds.
