Is This the Right Part?

✅ Cross Reference Information

47-918606

Common Symptoms

• Water dispenser does not operate when an incorrect, non-genuine, or no filter/bypass plug is installed., “Leak Detected” message with dispenser shutoff when the refrigerator detects an incorrect or non-genuine filter., Filter reminder does not reset after installation when the filter or bypass plug is not properly recognized.

Check Before Replacing

• Confirm the refrigerator’s owner documentation specifies an RPWFE filter before diagnosing the filter.
• Check that the installed filter or bypass plug is oriented with “FRONT” visible; if “BACK” is visible, remove it and reinstall in the correct orientation.
• For a suspected incorrect/non-genuine filter, inspect the back label for the raised square outline identifying the RFID chip; do not disassemble the filter.
• Visually inspect the filter area for water leakage. If a leak is detected or persists after filter replacement, arrange service rather than bypassing the leak-detection system.
• On compatible RFID models, verify that a newly installed genuine filter or bypass plug automatically clears the reminder; the reminder is not manually reset.

Installation Notes

• Use the replacement instructions supplied with the filter package and the refrigerator’s model-specific owner instructions., Install the filter or bypass plug with “FRONT” facing outward/visible; do not force a filter that will not seat., If the filter housing prevents insertion because its white and gray portions are misaligned, do not insert sharp tools into the housing., A small amount of water may be present at filter removal; inspect the filter area after installation for leakage., The required filter-status reminder on compatible RFID models resets automatically with a correctly recognized genuine RPWFE filter or bypass plug.
