A GE dishwasher that leaks water from the bottom or under the unit during the wash cycle almost always has a failed pump O-ring gasket — a $21 seal that prevents a flooded kitchen floor. In most GE GBF, GBP, and GBT series dishwashers, the pump O-ring gasket WG04A03908 seals the wash pump assembly to the sump, preventing pressurized wash water from escaping during the cycle. When it hardens, cracks, or deforms, water bypasses the seal and leaks onto the floor. ⚡ One of the most common leak sources in GE dishwasher pump assemblies. Part WG04A03908 is the genuine OEM O-ring gasket (Item #607 in diagram) that restores a watertight pump seal and stops the leak immediately.
This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:
✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing this pump O-ring gasket stops the leak immediately.
Skill Level: Moderate — 30–45 minutes. Disconnect power and turn off the water supply before beginning. Pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet to access the pump assembly from below, or remove the lower spray arm and sump cover to access from inside the tub. Remove the pump assembly, clean the seating surface thoroughly, and seat the new O-ring WG04A03908 into the groove without twisting or stretching it. Reassemble, restore power and water, and run a full cycle while monitoring for leaks before pushing the unit back into the cabinet.
