Dryer won't start when you press the button? The WG04F03522 Dryer Start Switch is the fix. This genuine OEM GE part is the push-button switch that initiates the dryer cycle — when it fails, pressing start does nothing. Direct replacement for WE4X881, WE04X10033, and WG04F06098. Fits a wide range of GE, Hotpoint, RCA, and private-label dryer models. Direct-fit replacement — no modifications needed.
The WG04F03522 is a direct OEM replacement start switch for GE-platform dryers. The start switch is a momentary push-button contact that sends the signal to begin the dryer cycle — when the contacts wear out or the switch fails internally, pressing the start button produces no response. This part restores reliable cycle initiation and is a common repair on HDBL, HDCL, HDVL, HNVL, and related GE/Hotpoint dryer families.
Dryer won't start when start button is pressed. Start button feels loose or has no click. Dryer starts intermittently — works sometimes but not others. Dryer hums briefly when start is pressed but won't run. No response at all when start button is pushed.

Disconnect power to the dryer before beginning any repair. The start switch is located in the control panel — on most models, the panel is accessed by removing the top panel screws and tilting the control panel forward. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old switch, press the retaining tabs to release it from the panel, and snap the new switch into place. Reconnect the harness and restore power to test. The dryer should start normally on the first press.
