W11806547 Whirlpool Lower Spray Arm for Dishwashers, Fixes Poor Cleaning or Arm Not Rotating
W11806547 is a genuine Whirlpool dishwasher lower spray-arm assembly. It replaces discontinued Whirlpool part numbers W11164607, W11579565 and W11789942.
The spray arm mounts at the bottom of the dishwasher tub and rotates under water pressure to distribute wash water across dishes in the lower rack.
A cracked, warped, clogged or seized lower spray arm may contribute to poor lower-rack cleaning, uneven spray coverage, abnormal rattling or an arm that does not rotate.
Similar symptoms can also result from blocked filters, low water level, a circulation-pump problem, debris in the sump or an item preventing the spray arm from turning.
Confirm the complete dishwasher model and revision before ordering. Check that the replacement arm rotates freely and does not contact the rack, utensils or heating element. Disconnect electrical power and shut off the water supply before servicing the dishwasher.
Is This the Right Part?
Fits select Whirlpool-manufactured dishwashers. Confirm the complete model and revision before ordering. Installation and retaining methods vary by dishwasher model.
Common Symptoms
- Lower rack dishes not cleaning properly or coming out dirty
- Spray arm not rotating during the wash cycle
- Uneven or blocked spray coverage across the lower rack
- Rattling or striking noise during the wash cycle
- Spray arm visibly cracked, warped or has damaged mounting tabs
Check Before Replacing
- Inspect the spray-arm openings for food debris or mineral buildup — clogged holes reduce spray pressure and coverage without requiring arm replacement.
- Check the spray-arm mounting connection for wear or damage — a loose or broken retainer can cause the arm to wobble or stop rotating.
- Confirm the filter and sump are clean — a clogged filter reduces water flow to the spray arm and mimics arm failure.
- Check that no utensils, rack items or debris are obstructing the arm’s rotation path before condemning the arm.

Installation Notes
- Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing.
- Remove the lower rack and locate the spray-arm retaining connection at the centre of the tub floor.
- Compare the new arm with the original before installation — confirm spray-hole pattern, mounting tab style and arm diameter match.
- Inspect the filter, sump and circulation-pump inlet for debris while the arm is removed.
- After installation, confirm the arm rotates freely without contacting the rack, utensils or heating element, then run a test cycle.
