When a GE French door or bottom-mount refrigerator stops producing ice, the complete ice maker assembly is almost always the culprit. The WR01F04990 replaces the entire unit — module, motor, ejector arm, aluminum mold, heating element, thermostat, and mounting hardware — restoring full ice production in a single swap. This is the current OEM part number and supersedes the earlier 200D1181G117; if that number appears on your parts diagram (Item #404), Part WR01F04990 is the correct replacement that restores full ice production immediately. ⚡ Don’t wait — a failed ice maker won’t self-correct.
This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:
✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing this ice maker assembly restores normal operation immediately.
Skill Level: Intermediate DIY — 30–45 minutes. Disconnect power and shut off the water supply line before beginning. Remove the ice bin to access the mounting screws, disconnect the water supply line and electrical harness, then remove the old assembly from the freezer wall. Mount the new WR01F04990 in the same position, reconnect the harness and water line, restore power and water, then allow 24 hours for the first full production cycle. Verify water fill, freeze, and ejection sequence before closing the freezer.
