The WR01F05050 is the current OEM water isolation valve assembly for GE French door and side-by-side refrigerators, superseding WR01F04596 and 225D6598G005. The isolation valve controls water flow to the dispenser and ice maker — it opens when water is requested and closes to stop flow. When it fails, the refrigerator may leak water continuously, produce no water at the dispenser, drip after use, or fail to supply the ice maker. This is the current production part — order this instead of the older WR01F04596.

The WR01F05050 is a direct OEM replacement manufactured to GE’s current specifications. It is compatible with GE, Profile, Cafe, and Monogram French door and side-by-side refrigerators across the GNE, GSE, CZS, CWE, DSE, XSS, and GNM model families — the same compatibility footprint as the superseded WR01F04596. Sold individually.
Water leaking from inside the refrigerator or onto the floor — No water at the dispenser — Water drips continuously from the dispenser after use — Ice maker not receiving water — Inconsistent water flow at the dispenser — Water dispenser works intermittently

Shut off the water supply to the refrigerator before beginning. Unplug the refrigerator. The isolation valve is typically located at the back of the refrigerator near the water inlet. Disconnect the water lines and wiring harness, remove the mounting screws, and swap in the new valve. Reconnect the harness and water lines, restore water supply and power, then test the dispenser and check for leaks. Most installations take 20–30 minutes.
