• Ice-maker-ready refrigerator does not currently have an ice maker installed
• Existing ice maker no longer cycles or produces ice
• Ice maker does not eject cubes after a completed harvest
• Mold does not refill with water after harvest
• Original IM6 or eligible WR30X10093 assembly has failed

• Confirm the shutoff arm is in the down (on) position — a raised arm stops ice production without any fault
• Check for a frozen fill tube — a blocked fill tube prevents the mold from refilling and mimics ice-maker failure
• Verify household water pressure is adequate and the water supply valve is fully open
• Confirm the freezer temperature is at or below 0°F (−18°C) — insufficient freezing temperature prevents harvest

1. Disconnect electrical power and shut off the refrigerator water supply before beginning installation.
2. Photograph wiring, connector positions, and fill tube routing before disassembly.
3. Confirm the connector type on your refrigerator — order adapter WR29X10049 (U.S.) or WG03F05120 (Canada) separately if required.
4. Compare the new kit components with the original before installation.
5. Test the appliance through a full ice-making cycle and check for leaks at all water connections before closing up.

The GE IM6D Ice Maker Kit is a genuine GE Appliances automatic refrigerator ice-maker installation and service kit. It replaces former GE kit number IM6 and can be used as a service replacement for WR30X10093 on compatible top-freezer and bottom-freezer refrigerators only. IM6D is not approved for side-by-side refrigerators. Although WR30X10093 was used on some side-by-side models, IM6D must not be used as a universal replacement for every WR30X10093 application — customers with a side-by-side refrigerator must verify the required model-specific ice-maker assembly separately.

Confirm the complete model number and connector configuration before ordering. Some installations require a separate rectangular-to-oval connector adapter — U.S. adapter number WR29X10049, Canadian GE/Mabe equivalent WG03F05120 — sold separately. Confirm whether the adapter is included with the stocked kit before ordering.
