If your GE gas range burner won’t ignite, produces uneven or lopsided flames, or keeps clicking after lighting, a cracked, chipped, or misaligned burner cap is the most common cause. In most GE gas ranges, this is caused by a failed main burner cap that no longer seats flat on the burner base, disrupting gas flow and flame distribution. When it fails, gas escapes unevenly — producing weak yellow flames, ignition misfires, continuous clicking, and inefficient heating. ⚡ Item #106 in the GE burner assembly diagram — one of the highest-wear parts on GE gas ranges. Part WS01F08602 is the genuine OEM replacement main burner cap that restores proper gas channelling and even blue flame distribution, eliminating ignition problems and uneven heat.
This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:

✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the burner assembly.
✔ In most cases, replacing this burner cap restores normal ignition and even flame distribution immediately.
Skill Level: EASY — under 5 minutes. No tools required. Turn off the burner and allow it to cool completely before handling. Lift the old burner cap straight up off the burner base — it simply rests in place and is not fastened. Before installing the new cap, use a toothpick or soft brush to clear any clogged ports on the burner base — blocked ports cause the same symptoms as a damaged cap. Set the new WS01F08602 flat onto the burner base, align the notch with the slot on the base, and press gently until it sits level. Test ignition — the flame should light cleanly and burn in a uniform blue ring.
