A faulty oven temperature sensor (RTD probe) produces the same F-codes and erratic heating symptoms as a failed control board — and costs a fraction of the price. Before committing to a board replacement, test the sensor’s resistance with a multimeter (typically 1,080–1,090Ω at room temperature for GE ovens). If the sensor checks out, the board is the confirmed culprit. Replacing both at the same time eliminates the most common cause of repeat control failures.
