If your touch board failed due to heat stress or moisture intrusion, inspect the ribbon cable routing and any nearby connectors for corrosion or burn marks before installing the new assembly. A damaged harness will take out a new board just as fast. While the cooktop is off, it's also a good time to verify the surface element connections (Items #110, #112, #113, #115 in the diagram) are seated firmly — loose element contacts are a common secondary cause of intermittent touch response issues.
