The WW02F00616 is the current genuine OEM GE dryer lint filter and mesh assembly, superseding WE18X25100, WW02L00080, 212D1090G002, and all earlier WE18M series part numbers. It captures lint and debris from the exhaust airflow to maintain safe, efficient dryer operation. A clogged or damaged filter restricts airflow, causing the dryer to overheat, take multiple cycles to dry a load, or trigger thermal cutoff failures.
Common failures: torn or punctured mesh, warped or cracked filter frame, filter no longer seating properly in the housing. Symptoms: dryer takes too long to dry, dryer overheating or shutting off mid-cycle, burning smell, lint escaping into the drum.
