If your refrigerator is running too warm, too cold, cycling constantly, or not cycling at all, a failed temperature control thermostat is the most common cause. In most standard refrigerators, the cold control thermostat monitors compartment temperature and signals the compressor to cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature. When it fails, the compressor either runs continuously (freezing everything) or stops cycling entirely (allowing food to warm). ⚡ Common failure point across a wide range of refrigerator platforms. Part 777XP is the premium XPart universal thermostat kit — cut-in 7°C / cut-out 3°C — that replaces K50-P1118 and WR09X32545 and restores accurate, stable temperature control immediately.
This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:

✔ If these symptoms match, the temperature control thermostat is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing the thermostat restores accurate, stable temperature control immediately.
Skill Level: Easy to Moderate — 20–40 minutes. Unplug the refrigerator before beginning. The thermostat is typically located inside the fresh food compartment behind the temperature dial panel. Photograph all wire connections before disconnecting, then note the capillary tube routing — it must be re-routed identically on the new thermostat. Do not kink or sharply bend the capillary tube — this will damage the thermostat immediately. Reconnect wires, reinstall the dial, restore power, and allow 2–4 hours for the compartment to stabilize before evaluating temperature.
Universal fit — compatible with most standard refrigerators using a mechanical temperature control thermostat with K50-P1118 or WR09X32545 specifications. Contact us to verify your model number before ordering.
