Yoder Smokers updated their paint finish to satin in 2015. To confirm which finish your grill requires, check the metal plate on the lid — it contains your serial number and date of manufacture. S series pellet grills with the wifi-enabled ACS controller always use the satin finish.

Clean the area thoroughly and remove any loose rust or debris. Lightly sand the damaged area with fine-grit sandpaper (220 grit recommended) to create adhesion. Wipe clean and allow to dry completely. Shake the can well for at least 2 minutes. Apply in thin, even coats from 10–12 inches away. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next. For best results, apply in temperatures above 50°F (10°C).
