The KitchenAid KSM3311 is the standard Artisan Mini 3.5-quart tilt-head stand mixer — a compact version of the Artisan Series designed for smaller batches and tighter counter space. Introduced in 2016, it uses a 250-watt DC motor and a scaled-down planetary drive. While it shares the same tilt-head design as the full Artisan, its internal components, bowl, and accessories are unique to the Mini platform and are NOT interchangeable with 5-quart models.

The KSM3311 uses a 250-watt DC motor with electronic speed control — a different motor platform than the AC motors in the full-size Artisan. The worm gear is smaller and specific to the Mini. The 3.5-quart stainless bowl and all accessories (beater, dough hook, whip) are Mini-specific and will not fit 5-quart models. Cross-reference with KSM3316 for shared parts.

⚠️ Pro tip: The Artisan Mini uses a DC motor — carbon brush wear patterns differ from AC motor models. If your Mini is losing power gradually rather than shutting off suddenly, the DC motor controller board is the more likely culprit before the brushes. Check the speed control board first.
