KitchenAid KSM150PS Replacement Parts
The KitchenAid KSM150PS is the flagship model of the Artisan Series — a 5-quart, 325-watt tilt-head stand mixer introduced in the early 2000s and still one of the most popular home mixers sold today. Whether your mixer is grinding, leaking grease, or the head won't lock, this page covers the most common repair parts and what to look for.

The KSM150PS uses a 10-speed planetary gear drive with a die-cast metal housing. It accepts all standard KitchenAid tilt-head attachments via the power hub on the front of the head. The 5-quart stainless steel bowl locks into the base with a quarter-turn. Common failure points include the worm gear (plastic, wears under heavy dough loads), carbon motor brushes (causes intermittent shutoff), and the speed control board (causes erratic speed behavior).
✓ Common Symptoms Fixed
Grinding or clicking noise: Worn worm gear — replace gear + grease pack together.
Mixer shuts off mid-use: Carbon motor brushes worn down — replace both brushes at the same time.
Speed jumps or won't hold speed: Speed control board failure — common after 5+ years of use.
Grease leaking from head: Worm gear housing seal degraded — full gear + grease service recommended.
Bowl won't lock or wobbles: Bowl-lift pin or base locking tab worn — inspect bowl and base tabs.
Attachment hub loose or wobbling: Hub retaining ring or internal bushing worn.

✓ Installation Tips
Always unplug the mixer before any repair. To access the worm gear, remove the single screw on the back of the head and lift the motor cover — the gear is visible on the motor shaft. When repacking grease, clean all old grease from the housing before applying new grease. Torque the head lock screw to finger-tight only — overtightening cracks the housing.
