If your LG or Kenmore electric range has a burner that won’t heat, is stuck on high, or the dial spins with no effect on temperature, a failed rotary switch is the most common cause. In most LG-built electric ranges, the rotary switch sits behind the control panel and routes the correct voltage to the surface burner element at each dial position — when its internal contacts wear or short, the burner loses all or partial temperature control. ⚡ Common failure point in LG LDE, LRE, LSE, and LSSE series electric ranges. Part EBF62174907 is the current OEM replacement that restores full burner control — superseding EBF62174902 and EBF62174904 with no modification required.

✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the burner control circuit.
✔ In most cases, replacing this rotary switch restores full burner temperature control immediately.
Skill Level: MODERATE — 30–60 minutes. Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the range before beginning. Pull the control knob straight off — no screws required on most models. Remove 2–4 screws from the back of the control panel to access the switch. Photograph the wiring harness before disconnecting — terminals must be reconnected in the exact same positions. Slide the new EBF62174907 into the mounting bracket, reconnect the harness, reinstall the panel and knob, restore power, and test all heat settings. Never reconnect power until the control panel is fully reassembled.
