If your GE front-load washer won’t drain, leaves standing water in the tub after a cycle, or displays an F9E1 drain error code, the drain pump is the cause. In GE GFW550, GFW650, and GFW850 series front-load washers, the drain pump evacuates water from the tub at the end of each wash and rinse cycle — when the pump motor seizes, the impeller jams with debris, or the pump fails electrically, water cannot exit the tub and the washer halts mid-cycle. ⚡ Most common drain failure point in GE front-load washers. Part WG04F13219 is the current OEM replacement (supersedes WG04F11965 and WH11X29539) that restores full drainage and normal cycle completion immediately. OEM and XPart aftermarket options available.

Skill Level: Moderate — 30 to 45 minutes. Disconnect power before beginning. The drain pump is accessed by removing the front lower access panel. Have towels ready — residual water will spill when the pump hoses are disconnected. Disconnect the wire harness and hose clamps, remove the mounting screws, swap the pump, and reconnect. Run a drain-only cycle to confirm full drainage before reassembling the panel.
