Is This the Part You Need?
The drain pump removes water from the tub during the drain and spin cycles, pumping it out through the drain hose. When the pump motor burns out, the impeller jams with debris, or the pump housing cracks, the washer cannot drain — leaving clothes soaking wet, cycles incomplete, and standing water in the tub. Left unrepaired, a failed drain pump will trigger error codes and prevent the machine from advancing past the drain phase entirely. The WW02F00011 is the OEM GE replacement that restores full drain performance, with a premium XPart aftermarket option also available.
Symptoms This Part Fixes
- Washer not draining — water remaining in tub after cycle
- Clothes still soaking wet after spin cycle completes
- Drain error codes displayed (E, F, or nd codes)
- Washer stopping mid-cycle during drain phase
- Loud grinding, humming, or buzzing noise during drain
- Slow or partial drainage — tub empties but takes much longer than normal
- Water leaking from the pump area at the front or bottom of the machine

Installation Notes
Skill Level: Intermediate — requires tilting or laying the washer on its side to access the pump (30–60 minutes).
- Unplug the washer before starting — the pump is electrically live during operation
- Have towels and a shallow pan ready — residual water will spill when the pump hoses are disconnected
- Photograph hose connections and wire harness before disconnecting
- Inspect the pump inlet and filter for debris before installing the new pump — a clogged inlet will burn out the new pump
- Check hose clamps for cracks or corrosion and replace if needed — a leaking clamp on a new pump is a frustrating repeat call
- Run a drain-only cycle after installation and inspect for leaks before pushing the machine back into place

💡 Pro Tip — Clean the Pump Filter Before Installing the New Pump:
A clogged pump filter or inlet screen is the most common root cause of drain pump failure on GE top-load washers — debris restricts flow, overloads the motor, and burns it out prematurely. Before installing the new pump, clear all debris from the inlet port and inspect the drain hose for kinks or partial blockages. If the pump failed early (under 3 years), a blocked filter or kinked hose is almost certainly why. Replacing the pump without clearing the restriction will burn out the new unit on the same timeline. Also inspect the pump housing mounting tabs — cracked tabs cause vibration that loosens hose connections and leads to leaks.
