The DG96-00110E is the genuine OEM Samsung lower oven convection motor for a wide range of Samsung gas and electric ranges. This motor drives the fan blade behind the rear wall of the lower oven cavity, circulating hot air for faster, more even convection cooking. When the motor fails — whether from winding burnout, worn bearings, or a seized shaft — the fan stops spinning and convection mode loses all its advantages. This is a direct OEM replacement for DG96-00110A, DG9600110A, and DG9600110E.

The DG96-00110E mounts to the rear wall of the lower oven cavity and connects to the convection fan blade via a direct shaft. It operates on AC power and uses a shaded-pole motor design. Common failure modes include winding burnout (fan completely dead), worn bearings (grinding or rattling noise that worsens over time), seized motor (hums or buzzes but blade won't turn), and intermittent failure (fan works when cold, stops when hot). Replacing the motor is a 30–50 minute DIY repair on most models.
Convection fan not spinning when convection mode is selected — Grinding, rattling, or squealing noise from the lower oven — Uneven convection cooking results or longer-than-expected cook times — Fan hums or buzzes but blade does not rotate — Fan works intermittently, especially when oven is hot

Disconnect power to the range at the breaker and unplug before beginning. Remove the lower oven racks and the rear oven wall panel to access the convection motor. Take a photo of the wiring harness before disconnecting. Remove the fan blade from the motor shaft (note thread direction — may be left-hand thread), then remove the motor mounting screws. Install the new motor, reconnect the harness, reinstall the fan blade, and replace the rear panel. Restore power and run a convection cycle to verify the fan spins freely and quietly.
