W11219115 Whirlpool Washer Outer Tub – Fix Your Washer That Leaks From the Bottom, Has a Cracked Tub, or Won't Hold Water

W11219115 Washer Outer Tub – The complete fix for a Whirlpool top-load washer that leaks from the bottom, has a cracked or damaged tub, won't hold water, or has water pooling underneath during operation. The outer tub is the large stationary container that holds all the wash water while the inner basket spins inside it. Over time, the outer tub can crack from stress, impact damage, chemical degradation, or age — causing water to leak out during fill or wash cycles. A cracked outer tub cannot be repaired — it must be replaced. If you see water leaking from underneath the washer (not from hoses or the pump), find visible cracks in the tub, or the washer won't maintain water level — the outer tub has failed. This genuine OEM Whirlpool part directly replaces W10512161, W10250763, and W10285625. Fits Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, Roper, Crosley, Estate, Inglis, and Kenmore top-load washers. Advanced 2–3 hour DIY repair that stops leaks and restores full washer functionality.

Why is my washer leaking from the bottom?

A washer leaking from the bottom typically has one of a few causes: a failed tub seal (most common), cracked outer tub, loose or damaged drain pump connections, or a hole in the drain hose. If the leak is coming from the center bottom area and you've ruled out the drain pump and hoses, the outer tub or tub seal is likely the problem. Cracks in the outer tub can develop from stress (overloading, unbalanced loads), impact damage (coins, keys, or other objects), chemical degradation (excessive bleach), or simply age. A cracked tub cannot be repaired — it must be replaced. While replacing the outer tub, it's highly recommended to also replace the tub seal and bearing, as these are common leak and noise sources that are easily accessed during this repair.
