Order WR01F05050 Instead →The WR01F04596 is the OEM water isolation valve assembly for GE French door and side-by-side refrigerators. The isolation valve controls water flow to the dispenser and ice maker — it opens when water is requested and closes to stop flow. When it fails, the refrigerator may leak water continuously, produce no water at the dispenser, drip from the dispenser after use, or fail to supply water to the ice maker. It replaces 225D6598G005. Shut off the water supply to the refrigerator before beginning. Unplug the refrigerator. The isolation valve is typically located at the back of the refrigerator near the water inlet. Disconnect the water lines and wiring harness, remove the mounting screws, and swap in the new valve. Reconnect the harness and water lines, restore water supply and power, then test the dispenser and check for leaks. Most installations take 20–30 minutes.
