Tools Needed

  Phillips screwdriver

  Nut driver (usually 1/4" or 5/16")

  Needle-nose pliers (optional)

  Towel or small container (to catch water)
  

Step-by-Step Installation

1. 
   Unplug the Refrigerator
   
   Safety first! Always disconnect power before working on electrical components.
   
2. 
   Turn Off Water Supply
   
   Shut off the water line to the ice maker to prevent leaks.
   
3. 
   Remove Ice Bin
   
   Slide out the ice storage bin to access the ice maker assembly.
   
4. 
   Detach Old Ice Maker
   
   
   Locate the mounting screws at the top and/or side.
   
   
   Unscrew and gently pull the ice maker forward.
   
   
   Disconnect the wiring harness (press tab and pull) and the water inlet tube.
   
   
   
5. 
   Prepare New Ice Maker
   
   
   Compare the new WR01F04812 with the old one to ensure compatibility.
   
   
   Make sure the ice mold and control arm move freely.
   
   
   
6. 
   Connect Water Supply & Wiring
   
   
   Attach the water inlet tube to the new ice maker (ensure snug fit to prevent leaks).
   
   
   Connect the wiring harness firmly until it clicks into place.
   
   
   
7. 
   Mount Ice Maker
   
   
   Position the ice maker back into place.
   
   
   Secure it with screws removed earlier.
   
   
   Ensure the assembly is level for proper ice formation.
   
   
   
8. 
   Replace Ice Bin
   
   Slide the ice bin back into its position.
   
9. 
   Turn On Water Supply
   
   Slowly turn on water to the ice maker and check for leaks.
   
10. 
    Plug In Refrigerator & Test
    
    
    Plug the refrigerator back in.
    
    
    Manually cycle the ice maker if possible (refer to your fridge manual) to ensure it produces ice correctly.
    
    
    

Tips & Warnings

  Avoid using excessive force when connecting the water line to prevent cracking the fitting.

  If ice production is slow, check that the water inlet valve is supplying adequate pressure.

1. No Ice Production

• 
  Ice maker does not cycle or produce ice.

2. Ice Maker Not Filling with Water

  Ice tray remains empty.

  Often caused by a clogged or frozen water line, or defective water inlet valve.
  

3. Partial or Small Ice Cubes

4. Ice Maker Continuously Runs

• 
  Ice maker keeps trying to produce ice without stopping.

  Commonly caused by a stuck or broken shut-off arm, faulty thermostat, or defective control module.
  

5. Ice Jam or Overflow

• 
  Ice cubes stuck in the ejector mechanism or bin overflows.
  
• 
  Could result from misaligned ice maker, ice mold damage, or failure to eject cubes properly.
  

6. Leaks Around Ice Maker

  Water pooling under ice bin or on refrigerator floor.
