If your GE oven has a burner or bake/broil element that won't heat, glows only partially, or has visible arcing or burn marks at the connection point, the receptacle assembly is the most common cause. ✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing this receptacle assembly restores full heating function immediately.
Skill Level: Easy — 15 to 25 minutes. Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing — do not rely on the oven's power switch alone. Pull the oven away from the wall and remove the back panel to access the receptacle block. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old receptacle, unscrew the mounting bracket, and install the new assembly in reverse order. Reconnect the element, restore power, and test both bake and broil functions.
