Dryer Drum Won't Spin or Squealing? Drive Belt 134719300 – Fix Belt Failure Fast

A broken or worn drum drive belt is the most common reason a dryer runs but the drum won't turn. In most Frigidaire, Electrolux, Crosley, and Kenmore dryers, the 134719300 is a poly-H, 5-rib belt that wraps around the drum and drives it from the motor pulley. When it breaks, the drum stops completely — the motor runs, the heat works, but nothing tumbles. ⚡ One of the highest-volume failure parts across the Frigidaire/Electrolux dryer platform. Part 134719300 is the genuine OEM replacement that restores full drum rotation immediately.

❓ Is This the Right Part?

This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:

  • ✔ Dryer powers on and motor runs normally
  • ✔ Heat is working — air gets warm but drum doesn't move
  • ✔ You can spin the drum freely by hand with the door open
  • ✔ ONLY problem is drum not turning, squealing, or thumping during operation

Not sure? Send us your model number — we'll confirm before you order.

🔧 Common Symptoms

  • Dryer runs but drum doesn't spin
  • Loud squealing or squeaking during operation
  • Thumping or rumbling noise from the drum
  • Clothes come out damp — drum barely moving
  • Visible broken belt when drum panel is removed
  • Drum spins freely by hand with no resistance

✔ If these symptoms match, the drive belt is the most likely failed component.

✔ In most cases, replacing this belt restores full drum operation immediately.

📦 Part Details

  • Part Number: 134719300

⚠️ Recommended While Repairing:
While the drum is out, inspect the drum support rollers and idler pulley. A worn idler pulley is often what caused the belt to fail in the first place — replacing both at the same time prevents a repeat repair within months.

⚙️ Installation

Skill Level: MODERATE — 30–45 minutes. Disconnect power before servicing. Remove the front panel or top and front depending on model to access the drum. Slip the old belt off the drum and motor pulley, route the new belt around the drum (ribbed side against drum), thread it under the idler pulley and around the motor pulley. Restore power and test before reassembling.

💡 Pro Tip

Check the Idler Pulley Before You Close It Up:
Spin the idler pulley by hand while you have the drum out. It should spin smoothly and silently. If it wobbles, grinds, or feels rough, replace it now — a failing idler pulley puts side-load stress on the new belt and will cause premature wear or another break within a few months.

Why does my Frigidaire dryer make a squealing noise?

A squealing, squeaking, or chirping noise from your Frigidaire dryer is usually caused by a worn drive belt or a failing idler pulley. The drive belt wraps around the drum and runs over the idler pulley and motor pulley — as the belt ages, it can become glazed (smooth and shiny), stretched, or develop cracks. A glazed belt slips on the pulleys, creating a squealing sound, especially when the dryer first starts or when the drum is loaded with heavy items. The idler pulley can also wear out — its bearing may dry out or fail, causing squeaking or squealing as it spins. To diagnose, open the dryer and inspect the belt for glazing, cracks, or fraying, and spin the idler pulley by hand to check for noise or roughness. In most cases, replacing the belt solves the squealing. If the idler pulley is also worn, replace it at the same time to prevent the noise from returning and to protect your new belt.
