The DA97-15217D is a genuine OEM ice maker assembly for Samsung French door and side-by-side refrigerators. It features a motorized ice tray, integrated fill valve, and internal thermostat, automatically producing, ejecting, and storing crescent-shaped ice cubes. The assembly is pre-wired for plug-and-play installation and includes a protective cover.
Typical lifespan is 5–10 years; failures are most often due to motor burnout, fill valve issues, ice jams, or sensor malfunction. Symptoms: no ice production, slow production, cubes stuck in tray, or leaking.
