In most GE washers, the inlet valve controls the flow of hot and cold water into the machine. Skill Level: MODERATE — 20–35 minutes. Disconnect power and turn off water supply before servicing. Remove the rear access panel to reach the inlet valve mounted at the back of the machine. Disconnect the two water supply hoses, unplug the wire harness connectors, and remove the mounting screws. Install the new valve in reverse order and hand-tighten hose connections before final snugging. Run a short fill cycle to confirm no leaks at the hose connections before closing the panel.
